The candy canes of the forest: Candystick 🤩! They’re also called sugarstick, candy cane plant, candystriped allotropa and barber’s pole. This absolutely stunning deciduous plant has white and pinky-maroon coloured stripes with white leaves and pink-red flowers that turn black with age. Their flowers are loved by bumblebees 🐝 which is how the plant is pollinated. Candystick is a myco-heterotroph, which means it obtains it’s energy and nutrients from fungus in the soil instead of through photosy
