Are your kids whining at you? I know it can sound like nails on a chalkboard 🫣 From my experience It often comes down to how you respond. Here’s how I would personally approach this if they are three and older … From what I've seen they often don't even know they're doing it. I don't consider it attitude or bad behaviour. It's an affectation similar to a vocal fry ... more like a habit. What I would say is ... ➡️ I'll let you know when you whine because you might not even be aware of it. In thi

Are your kids whining? Here’s how I would approach this … ▶️ Before the age of three: I would just ignore it; they'll eventually stop because it doesn't get any attention. They learn to stop doing what doesn't work and to start doing what does work so whining never works, they'll just stop doing it. ▶️If they are three and older: From my experience, they don't even know they're doing it oftentimes. It's an affectation, like a vocal fry, that kind of stuff. It's just more of a habit. What I would

Toddler whining? Whining is similar to tantrums in that it’s best to ignore it when they’re under 3. If 3 I would explain the tone of voice I don’t like and won’t respond to then explain how to talk to get an answer. The answer may still be “no” but at least you’ll answer. How would I approach whining? If they are under three, I would just ignore the whining. For three and above, I'd say if you ask me like this (and then show what the whining sounds like) I won’t answer since that’s whining. But if you say, may I please have, I will answer you, but the answer is still maybe no. By three they should be able to understand that. P.S. From my experience there are four things your toddler may do … or they’ll never do. 1️⃣Tantrums 2️⃣Hitting or aggressive behaviour 3️⃣Running away from you in public 4️⃣Climbing I believe it’s something they are born to do, so I don’t think it’s your fault if they do them, but I do think parents have a responsibility to handle these effectively. ▶️ Want to begin your calm leadership journey today? Self-esteem does not come from other people, it comes from within you. You increase your kids self-esteem by giving them something to be proud of. What can they be proud of? How nice they are, their good behavior, the friendship that they have with you, how they treat people … that's what builds high self-esteem. When you set yourself up as a leader, their self-esteem happens organically. Kids of leaders tend to have high self-esteem, they tend to like themselves. Also, if you're the source of t

What do you do after saying "no" and your kids starts whining? My approach is to go radio silent... hear me out on this one. From my perspective if you’re fair and reasonable with your “no” then when your child keeps whining I would just let them go on. As soon as there's silence I would immediately change the subject to something positive like …. Oh, what a beautiful day out ☀️ From what I've seen this shows them that their whining has no effect on you. I believe as a calm leader you control th

My toddler tantrums when he doesn't get his way. Do I ignore him or redirect him? When a kid's having a tantrum, you're filing your nails waiting, it's like you're waiting for a bus. You don't look at them or talk to them, but as soon as they're done, you move onto a new activity, like reading a book. You're sending the message that the tantrum gets no attention. Toddlers usually don't tantrum all by themselves in a room. They want an audience. A tantrum is just a loss of emotional control at no
