Granny Jemima was one of five Elders who refused to leave Coranderrk in 1924, and because of her, practices like weaving and language were passed down. Her story reminds us: culture survives because people fight for it. Wurundjeri culture is alive today because Elders like Granny Jemima refused to let it die.
