The 1925 Sunbeam Tiger is a four-litre V12 built by the Sunbeam Motor Company for Major Henry Segrave. In April 1926, it set a new world land speed record of 153.308mph on Southport Sands, surpassing Malcolm Campbell’s 1925 record of 150.76 mph in 'Blue Bird'. Originally named ‘Ladybird’, it was later renamed ‘Tiger’. The car’s record run damaged six supercharger housings due to the rough surface. In 2016 the ‘Tiger' returned to Southport for the 90th anniversary re-enactment of its 1926 record.
