Golden ragwort (Packera aurea) is a must-have for your garden if you’re in its native range in the northeast US. It’s tough, pretty, evergreen, and suppresses invasives and other weeds. The bright yellow flowers emerge in early spring and good for pollinators. It’s a great plant for moist soils and will spread via underground rhizomes. I dig up and divide some each year to plant around or give to friends. One really cool that I like about the plant is the leafminer moths that utilize the leaves.
