Some major retailers raise the online prices of certain goods days or weeks before marking them down in seasonal sales events, the NBC News Price Tracker shows.

The annual Walmart Deals event is here, bringing shoppers some competitive prices to those offered by Amazon on Prime Day — whether it’s laptops, coffee makers, patio furniture or kitchen appliances. The sale is featuring up to 50% off a number of items, with free shipping on many of the deals.

Amazon Prime Day officially got underway Tuesday, with the summer sales event slated to last through July 11. Competitors Target and Walmart are also holding multi-day sales events.

The best headphones for most new iPhone users are at their lowest price ever at Walmart, even less than Amazon's Prime Day sale.
