Former Orioles catcher Robinson Chirinos and Triple-A manager Buck Britton are among the new additions to Brandon Hyde’s staff.

Chirinos replaces a very experienced former manager in Fredi González as bench coach. González was seen as second in command to Brandon Hyde, providing insight to a first-time manager.

The Orioles finalized their 2025 coaching staff, announcing Monday morning that they’ve named former big-league catcher Robinson Chirinos their new bench coach. Chirinos announced his retirement as a player in May 2023.

The club has named CODY ASCHE as the hitting coach, ROBINSON CHIRINOS as the bench coach, TOMMY JOSEPH as the assistant hitting coach, SHERMAN JOHNSON as the assistant hitting coach/upper level hitting coordinator, and BUCK BRITTON as a major league coach.

As Brandon Hyde prepares for his seventh season as Orioles manager, he again has revamped his coaching staff. In Hyde’s successful run, the Orioles have had three different pitching coaches, and now three different hitting coaches.
