Several horses were on the loose south of Grand Rapids Wednesday morning, sparking a traffic alert for the animals.

KENT COUNTY, MI – Traffic is slowed on M-6 on Wednesday, March 5, while police and others round up 15 horses that got loose. An officer reported “pandemonium.” The horses were reported loose on M-6 between U.S. 131 and Kalamazoo Avenue SW. They had escaped from a boarding facility.

Michigan State Police troopers near Grand Rapids had to wrangle several horses Wednesday morning on the side of the highway.

More than a dozen horses got loose, wandering onto the M-6 freeway as Grand Rapids Post troopers shut down a portion of the highway and did their best to keep the horses safe, and diverting traffic. Michigan State Police had their hands full, shutting down a portion of the highway while wrangling the horses on M-6 near the Kalamazoo Ramp.
