Kerr County issued CodeRed ahead of yesterday's flood threat, urging residents to stay safe during heavy rain possible rising water.

KERR COUNTY, Texas — As the Hill Country cleans up the flooding debris, medical clinics, pharmacies and partners with the State Department of Health are working to help first responders, volunteers, and flood victims stay safe with free tetanus shots. Its recommended to get a tetanus booster shot every 10 years as an adult.

FOX viewers have come through in a big way for the victims of the devastating Central Texas floods, raising over $7 million – so far.

At least 161 are still unaccounted for after the July Fourth floods that saw the waters of the Guadalupe rise to historic levels in Central Texas, officials with Kerr County said Friday. Authorities have confirmed 103 deaths, 36 of whom are children.

Fundación 911, a nonprofit that provides equipment and training to fire departments across Mexico, sent a crew of 40 members to support local first responders.

After deadly floods swept through Texas Hill Country, Houstonians responded with truckloads of donations, led by a weeklong relief drive from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The Kerr County Commissioners Court discussed installing early warning sirens as early as 2015, after a deadly flood on Memorial Day. To date, it still has not done so.

Kerr County residents will be in recovery and cleanup mode for a while. Baylor University and BearAid disaster relief are among the many groups stepping in to help with the healing process.
