Flanked by Illinois Democrats, community advocates, business leaders and clergy, Gov. JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson were unified in voicing that federal troops are not welcome or needed in Chicago.

"There are many things the federal government could do to help us reduce crime and violence in Chicago, but sending in the military is not one of them," Johnson said in a statement.
