Buehler, 31, has struggled mightily as a member of the Red Sox in 2025. The right-hander owns a 5.40 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 7-7 record through 110 innings pitched.

Buehler, who signed a one-year deal worth $21.05 million with the Red Sox in December, also gave a blunt assessment of how his stuff has been this season, saying that his pitches have “sucked” throughout the year. “It’s hard to say these two are the winners when they all kind of sucked all year,” he said.

In 22 starts, Buehler posted the worst numbers of his career with a 5.40 ERA, 16.5 percent strikeout rate and 10.7 percent walk rate.
