Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli will remain co-owners in a new joint venture with Amazon MGM that hands over the creative reins and control of all future production to the Jeff Bezos-founded company.

Amazon MGM Studios, the tech giant's film unit, plans to take "creative control" of the James Bond series under a new deal with the franchise's longtime producers, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

James Bond has surpassed the constraints of a straightforward spy narrative. He's the one who charted the course and ushered in the genre's modern era on the big screen. And that's where he's endured for the past six decades.
