GM is recalling 597,630 trucks and SUVs equipped with potentially defective 6.2-liter V8 engines. Impacted models include the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and GMC Sierra 1500. The engines may have internal debris or an out of spec crankshaft,

GM is recalling over 597,000 vehicles due to V8 engine defects that could cause sudden engine failure and crashes.

The recall follows a January investigation​ by U.S. auto safety regulators into reports of engine failure in certain GM vehicles.
