President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump came to Kerr County, Texas, to look at the flooding damage firsthand. FOX News' Olivianna Calmes has been speaking to volunteers who have been coming to help first responders in the area.

President Donald Trump was expected to arrive in Kerr County, Texas, Friday afternoon, one week after the area was struck by catastrophic flooding.

During Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting, Trump did not mention those plans and instead praised the federal flooding response. Turning to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, whose department oversees FEMA, he said, “You had people there as fast as anybody’s ever seen.”

President Donald Trump travels to Texas on Friday amid growing questions about how local officials responded to the devastating floods, as well as questions about the federal response -- including the fate of the Federal Emergency Management Agency -- that he has so far avoided.

Officials are keeping a wary eye on river levels as some crews resume the search for people still missing after catastrophic flooding pummeled Texas this month
