Seattle got off to a good start in the draft by hitting the biggest roster need in Round 1. Now the real game begins.

The Seattle Seahawks selected North Dakota State offensive tackle Grey Zabel with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft

Fortunately, the Seahawks found a guard in Zabel to convince Schneider to stay put at No. 18 ( not trading back) to draft at such a lofty position. By doing so, Seattle actually made some franchise history. Zabel became the highest guard drafted by the Seahawks since they selected Hall of Famer Steve Hutchinson No. 17 overall in the 2001 NFL draft.
