In addition to his All-Star Game selection, Raleigh will be participating in the Home Run Derby, which is the Monday before the All-Star Game. He'll look to become the second Mariners player to win the Derby, following Ken Griffey Jr., who won it three times.

The Seattle Mariners slugger was named to his first All-Star team as the AL’s starting catcher Wednesday. Raleigh garnered 72% of the votes from Phase 2 of All-Star balloting, which featured the top two vote-getters at each infield position during Phase 1 squaring off for the starting roles in their respective leagues.

Cal Raleigh struck out four times and the Mariners twice grounded into double plays in the game to stymie late rallies in a 6-3 loss to the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday at T-Mobile Park.
