In light of increasing violence against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh, Iskcon Kolkata advises monks to conceal their religious symbols, including saffron clothing and tilak, and to practice faith discreetly inside homes and temples.

One more monk attached to the International Society For Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was arrested in Bangladesh, vice-president and spokesman of the ISKCON Kolkata, Radharaman Das claimed on Saturday.

On Friday, a Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson said India has conveyed its concern over the attacks on Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh and pressed for a “fair and transparent trial” for Chinmoy Krishna Das.

KOLKATA: Sixty-three Iskcon monks, all Bangladeshis with valid travel documents, were prevented from crossing over to India on Saturday evening and Sunday morning, several Bangladeshi media outlets and Iskcon Kolkata reported on Sunday.

Bangladesh immigration authorities barred 54 ISKCON monks from entering India despite having valid visas, citing a lack of government approval.
