Max Verstappen took his ninth victory of the 2024 Formula One season at the Qatar Grand Prix on Sunday, though he wasn’t exactly in a celebratory mood after the race, accusing Mercedes’ George Russell of trying to “screw him over.

Verstappen was unhappy with the role Russell, who rose from second to first on the grid, had played in the decision.

Red Bull boss Christian Horner accused George Russell of “hysterics” as the fall-out between Max Verstappen and the British driver continued following the Qatar Grand Prix. Verstappen celebrated his fourth world title by winning the race in Qatar but said afterwards that he had “lost all respect” for Russell after he was stripped of pole position the previous day.
