Auliʻi Cravalho, the actor who voices Moana in Disney's animated franchise of the same name, recently told People magazine that the money she earned off the success of the original 2016 film allowed her to buy a house for her mother.

Moana 2 star Auli’i Cravalho has revealed she bought her mom a house after the first film in the franchise aired in 2016. The 24-year-old, who rose to fame as the voice of the Polynesian chieftess in the Walt Disney animated movie, opened up about how she’s thanked her family for their support amid her success.

Auliʻi Cravalho was only 16 years old when she voiced her breakout role as Moana. And today, eight years later, she is reprising the iconic Disney character at the premiere of the much-anticipated sequel, “Moana 2.”
