North Texas is in for a wet and soggy weekend, which might put a damper on Easter weekend plans. On Easter Sunday, North Texas has a high chance of showers and storms during the early morning hours, bringing a flood threat as a cold front moves through.

According to the Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center’s outlook, precipitation levels are expected to remain above normal from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic through the end of April, especially for Northeast Texas, North Louisiana, Arkansas, eastern Oklahoma and southern Missouri.

Beginning on Friday night, a 40% chance of rain and storms will return to North Texas and persist until Sunday morning.
