NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville travelers looking to book Spirit Airlines flights will soon have six new destinations to choose from. According to the airline company, Spirit will launch twice weekly flights to Cleveland, Chicago, Kansas City, Milwaukee, Myrtle Beach, and San Antonio from Nashville International Airport (BNA) in early May.

Spirit Airlines is emerging from the shadow of bankruptcy and route cuts by adding dozens of new routes. Major airports including Nashville, Charlotte, Detroit, Dallas, and Baltimore/Washington are getting significant route additions.

Charlotte passengers have embraced Spirit’s travel options, which is why more flights are starting in May, stated John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines. The additions are also coming just in time for summer vacation travel too.

Spirit Airlines is resuming nonstop service from Louisville to Los Angeles and adding four new direct routes from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. The budget carrier is reviving the route to LAX after eliminating the service last fall shortly after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

Southwest launched a daily nonstop flight to Music City out of Indianapolis International Airport on March 6. Before this month, BNA had no nonstops to Indiana.
