Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, BEL, and Trent and NTPC were among the top gainers on the Nifty index Apollo Hospitals, Titan, Wipro and Hindalco were among the top losers.

The S P BSE Sensex added 230.02 points to close at 80,234.08, while the NSE NIfty50 gained 82.20 points to end at 24,276.70.

Sensex climbed 439 pts to 80,442 and Nifty gained 134 pts to 24,328. Market cap of BSE-listed firms stood at Rs 444.64 lakh crore in today’s session.

Indian equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, opened flat in trade on Wednesday. While BSE Sensex was above 80,000, Nifty50 was near 24,180.

Within the Nifty index, Mahindra and Mahindra, Coal India, Wipro, Kotak Bank and Tech Mahindra were among the top gainers. On the other hand, Cipla, ONGC, Tata Consumer, Bharti Airtel and UltraTech Cement were among the top losers.
