Michigan State's hopes of taking home a Maui Invitational title were put to rest on Day 2 of the tournament when they fell to the rising Memphis Tigers, 71-63.

Jase Richardson came off the bench to score 13 points as Michigan State beat Colorado 72-56 in its first appearance in the Maui Invitational since 2019.

Maybe it was it the luggage held up at LAX, maybe it was fatigue from the seven-hour flight and three-hour time difference, or it was the temperature shock going from frigid Colorado weather to the black sand beaches of Maui.
