Lonzo Ball will not return to Monday's game between the Chicago Bulls and the Philadelphia 76ers due to a head injury.

Regardless, Lonzo Ball remained in the starting lineup but exited late in the first half. Now, an update has been provided on his status. After suffering a laceration to his head, Ball won't return to Monday's contest against the 76ers.

Ball injured his left knee Jan. 14, 2022, against the Warriors, and it seemed at first to be the kind of thing that would be fixed pretty fast. Originally diagnosed as a bone bruise, it soon was discovered he also had torn the meniscus in the knee.

After missing the last two NBA seasons due to multiple knee surgeries, Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball was finally able to get back onto the court in late November. However, it hasn't been the easiest comeback for the former UCLA star, averaging 7.3 points on 34.9% shooting, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.4 assists through 32 games played.

Ball has appeared in 30 games (nine starts) in 2024-25, averaging 7.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 21.6 minutes per game.

The Chicago Bulls are heading to Philadelphia to take on the 76ers. Both teams are in the midst of extended losing streaks, the Bulls with a six-game streak and the 76ers with a seven-game streak. Monday's game will be the third meeting between the two teams and the first in Philadelphia.
