USC star JuJu Watkins is the AP Player of the Year in women's college basketball and just the fourth sophomore to do it

USC sophomore guard JuJu Watkins was named the winner of the 2025 Naismith Women's College Basketball Player of the Year Award on Wednesday. Watkins beat out a stacked group of finalists in UConn guard Paige Bueckers, UCLA center Lauren Betts and Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo to take the honors.

Per ESPN's Michele Steele, USC star JuJu Watkins and North Carolina's RJ Davis lead all male and female athletes in NIL endorsements over the past 12 months. According to Steele, Davis has 25 NIL deals while Watkins has 20.
