During the PlayStation Partner Awards in Japan, as reported by IGN Japan, director Hidetaka Miyazaki unsurprisingly found himself fielding questions about the possibility of more Elden Ring—though we already knew Shadow of the Erdtree would be its only expansion.

FromSoftware conducted a new interview recently offering some insights into what to expect next from the legendary developer that brought us Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, and many more 10/10 bangers.

Complicating the future of Elden Ring 2 is Sony's attempt to acquire FromSoftware's parent company, Kadokawa. Though it's being done to increase Sony's footprint in anime and manga, it would also turn FromSoftware into a Sony-owned studio, which could mean any future games will become, like Demon Souls and Bloodborne, PlayStation exclusives.

According to an interview given by FromSoftware's Hidetaki Miyazaki, the studio is not considering Elden Ring 2.

Legendary game developer FromSoftware is working hard on several upcoming projects. Unfortunately for Elden Ring fans, none are the follow-up to the widely successful RPG. In the past, Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed that there are no plans for more Elden Ring DLC.

FromSoftware has confirmed that you shouldn't expect Elden Ring 2 to happen any time soon, but that multiple projects are in the works.
