Meta Platforms Inc. has acquired Assured Robot Intelligence Inc., a provider of artificial intelligence software for robots.

It’s the latest move in a race to add artificial intelligence to consumer-facing home technology, with xAI and Amazon also competing for future category dominance.

The team at ARI, including co-founders Lerrel Pinto and Xiaolong Wang, are set to join Meta’s Superintelligence Labs’ research division.
