Microsoft Paint was the first app that introduced users to computer graphics. The app has now moved to an advanced stage with its new iteration – Paint 3D, in Windows 11/10.

In 2017, Microsoft phased out Paint for a short period of time and replaced it with a "re-imagined" version called Paint 3D.

Microsoft is making a preview edition of the new Paint 3D available for download right now if you're a Windows Insider.

That didn't last long. By 2021, 3D Viewer and Paint 3D were removed from the default app install list on Windows 10, meaning you had to install it from the store.
