The U.S. Department of Agriculture is issuing a nationwide, high-risk recall for nearly 3,000 pounds of ground beef after discovering it may be contaminated with E. coli. E. coli is a type of bacteria that can cause severe stomach cramps, diarrhea and vomiting, the recall warns.

Nearly 3,000 pounds of ground beef, distributed across six U.S. states, have been recalled by the Mountain West Food Group, LLC, according to an announcement published by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) on December 27, 2025.
