Los Angeles, California-based OriginOil has developed a patented process that keeps algae healthy and productive by selectively eliminating microscopic predators without the use of chemicals.

LOS ANGELES, March 23 (UPI) -- A California company promoting algae as a renewable source of oil to compete with petroleum has announced a process to protect it against microscopic predators.

"The debate linked to a more responsive architecture, connected to nature, has been growing since the 1960s," explains Irina Shaklova in her description of her IaaC research project Living Screen.
