The New York Giants play host to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in a battle of teams missing multiple star players on both sides of the ball.
The first 29 minutes of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans were a disaster for the San Francisco 49ers, but they ended the first half with a bang. Late in the fourth quarter, first-round pick defensive end Mykel Williams went down with a right knee injury. Afterwards, coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that they fear Williams injured his ACL. A torn ACL would sideline Williams for the remainder of the season.

Kyle Shanahan said last week that there was some hope that Brock Purdy could serve as the backup or emergency quarterback for Sunday's road game against the Giants, but he ultimately remained on the inactive list due to turf toe while Mac Jones started for the fifth straight game.
