It’s almost that time of year. Spotify is gearing up to release its annual Spotify Wrapped, a personalized recap of its users' listening habits and year in audio.

Spotify has yet to announce when 2024 Wrapped will drop, but the history of the event suggests it's coming soon. Over the past six years, the drop has come in late November or early December:

Spotify is getting support for Google’s Gemini Extensions, which will allow users to search for and play music using the generative AI assistant with natural language requests. The extension was first spotted in the code of the Google app in June, and now it’s rolling out to compatible Android devices, as reported by 9to5Google.

Setup requires granting Google access to Spotify and having a Premium subscription for some features to work. The extension is only available in English on the main Gemini app, not on Gemini in Messages or the web or iPhone.

Google has started rolling out its Spotify extension for Gemini users on Android. Under the "Play & Search" moniker, users can ask Gemini to discover music based on artist, song title, playlist, or lyrics.
