West Michigan is expected to experience a mix of snow and freezing rain, ending Wednesday afternoon. Northern Michigan is forecast to receive 1-2 inches of snow with rain and strong winds. A flood watch is in effect for southeast Michigan, including metro Detroit, from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning.
Huron County experienced significant severe weather Wednesday evening as thunderstorms moved through the region, delivering hail the size of walnuts to the Port Austin and Caseville areas.
Severe weather is possible throughout southeast Michigan Sunday evening. Due to the heightened risk the NEXT Weather Team will be at our Alert Day levels, providing additional coverage on our livestream through the evening. A line of storms should form this afternoon to our southwest and race to the northeast at approximately 50 mph.
