No. 22 North Texas is still in the hunt for the American Conference championship game after a 56-24 rout of Rice.
The Owls are offering free beer for all Rice students who are of drinking age at Saturday’s game against North Texas at Rice Stadium. Students with a valid school ID also will get free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, a $15 food truck voucher and a free T-shirt. The 6:30 p.m. game will be televised by ESPNU.
Nations Group is the lead consultant for Penn State's Beaver Stadium. The $700 million project aims to double concourse space; enhance vertical fan circulation; and add escalators, elevators and pedestrian ramps. Gameday presentation is also a focus, featuring improved stadium lighting, an upgraded videoboard and ribbon boards in the upper bowls.
Rice, an FBS school with an undergraduate population just shy of 5,000, wants a big turnout with bowl eligibility on the line.
