Stuart Smith, the professional wrestler who goes by the ring name "Syko Stu," is "stable but in critical care" after allegedly being brutally beaten by mixed martial artist Raja Jackson at a Knokx Pro Wrestling event on Saturday.

Rampage Jackson apologized on social media on behalf of his son and said the incident was a miscommunication. He said his son was unexpectedly hit in the head moments before Smith's match and was told that he could get his "payback" in the ring as part of the show.

Quinton Jackson and the promotion that held the show said the incident involving Raja Jackson and wrestler Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith appeared to be a case of a planned spot gone wrong.
