A minute's silence will be observed at the Women's Euro 2025 game between Portugal and Spain on Thursday following the death of Portuguese men's national team striker Diogo Jota in a car accident, UEFA said.

Liverpool paid a total of £45 million ($58 million at the time) to sign Jota from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2020. Just two days before his passing, Wolves chairman Jeff Shi admitted his regret towards accepting the Reds’ bid during an appearance on the Business of Sport podcast.
