Ons Jabeur is taking a hiatus from the women’s tennis tour, with the three-time major runner-up saying she wants to “rediscover the joy of simply living.”

Former world No. 2 Ons Jabeur will "step back" from tennis so she can heal and "rediscover the joy of simply living," she announced Thursday on social media.

After reaching No. 2 status in June of 2022, Jabeur finished out the year strong and performed well again in 2023. She was a quarterfinalist at the French Open that year and made it to the Wimbledon finals, where she lost to Markéta Vondroušová.
