Murder of Oak Park Detective Allan Reddins is another line-of-duty tragedy
Oak Park Detective Allan Reddins was killed less than a month after Chicago Police Officer Enrique Martinez was shot to death in Chatham, both grim reminders of the dangers officers face and the gun violence that continually rages across the country.
The last time an Oak Park police officer died in the line of duty, before Det. Allan Reddins died Nov. 29, was in 1938.
