People in Georgia and Alabama were given minutes to get to shelter after a possible tornado was spotted in the area. On Monday, the National Weather Service (NWS) office in Tallahassee, Florida, issued a special weather warning to alert people in three counties they needed to seek cover immediately as radar captured rotation from a storm capable of creating a tornado.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration fired hundreds of employees at the end of February, including meteorologists.
Tornadoes in New Jersey are not rare. They occur a couple of times each year. The most recent one took place near Trenton, in Lawrence Township, in June 2024, as confirmed by the NWS. The damage was minimal; the tornado flipped over a few cars with winds of less than 85 mph.
The NWS Mount Holly issued the warning until 10 p.m. for the central part of the state, including Tinton Falls, Eatontown and Red Bank.
A winter storm warning was released by the NWS Reno NV on Monday at 11:11 p.m. in effect until Tuesday at 11 p.m. for Lake Tahoe.
The warning was in place for Dale and Henry counties.
The National Weather Service released a tornado warning at 9:23 p.m. on Monday in effect until 10 p.m. for Middlesex and Monmouth counties.
Utah is expecting one more round of snow starting Monday night, which could reach as far down as the valley floor. In anticipation of the incoming winter storm, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory which begins at 6 p.m. on Monday and is expected to last into Tuesday and Wednesday night, depending on location.

On Monday at 10:02 p.m. an updated winter storm warning was released by the NWS Eureka CA in effect until Tuesday at 5 p.m. for Northern Trinity and Southern Trinity.
