Tracking all the moves the Texans make ahead of the NFL's cut deadline Tuesday afternoon. The first is Joe Mixon to the non-football-injury list.

Joe Mixon, who took over the Texans' backfield last fall as the bellcow runner, is set to begin the season on the reserve list with an ankle injury.

It's unclear who the immediate starter is over Mixon, so the Rams will likely see some combination of Dameon Pierce, Dare Ogunbowale, ex-Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb and fourth-round rookie Woody Marks. Chubb is listed as the team's second running back, but all four players have seen action in training camp and in the preseason.

The Houston Texans are placing running back Joe Mixon on the Non Football Injury (NFI) list to start the season, per Aaron Wilson. This move isn’t too surprising, as Mixon has yet to practice after starting training camp on the NFI list.
