As the lake effect snow continues, New York could see an additional 1-2 feet of new snow, according to the National Weather Service. According to meteorologist Steve Welch, the majority of the snow can be expected south of the Buffalo Metro area and near Watertown.

A winter weather advisory is also underway in parts of the Rochester region through 1 p.m. Tuesday - this includes Wayne and Cayuga counties, where several inches of snow fell overnight and another 4 to 7 inches of lake effect snow is expected by midday Tuesday, Kenyon said. Overnight snow totals were not immediately available.

Near Buffalo, between 10 and 20 inches of lake effect snow is expected by the end of Sunday, according to the Weather Service. The southern part of Erie County, along with Wyoming, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, are predicted to see 2 to 4 feet of snow by Monday night.
