NEW LENOX, Ill. (CBS) -- A person was shot and seriously wounded Monday evening on Interstate 80 in New Lenox. Illinois State Police were called to the I-80 westbound entrance to I-355 at 5:30 p.m. They found one person who was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A deadly shooting on I-80 in New Lenox was caused by road rage, Illinois State Police said. Ryan Kobayashi, who flew to Los Angeles looking for his daughter, Hannah, after she was reported missing, 'tragically took his own life,' according to his family.

Officers responded to the I-80 westbound entrance to I-355 near New Lenox at 5:30 p.m. Monday for a call of a shooting on the expressway and found a person with gunshot wounds, police said. The person later died.

NEW LENOX, Ill. - One person was critically wounded Monday night following a shooting on Interstate 80 near New Lenox. Illinois State Police responded around 5:30 p.m. to the westbound exit ramp to Interstate 355 and found one person wounded. Authorities have taken another individual into custody in connection with the incident.
