PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Maryvale High School students went back to in-person classes on Monday, less than a week after a classmate was stabbed to death on campus. Sixteen-year-old Michael Montoya II died after police say classmate Chris Aguilar, also 16, attacked him with a 4-inch pocketknife last Tuesday.

Students at Maryvale High School are returning to campus on Aug. 25, following a stabbing almost a week ago. The incident resulted in the death of a 16-year-old student. The suspect is being charged as an adult.
