Former Nuggets head coach Michael Malone had lost the support of virtually the entire locker room by the time he and general manager Calvin Booth were fired earlier this week, Jake Fischer of The Stein Line (subscription required) reports in an investigation of what went wrong in Denver.

Morale among Denver Nuggets players was reportedly very low prior to Michael Malone's firing on Tuesday. Per ESPN's Tim MacMahon and Ramona Shelburne, one Nuggets source described players as being "freakin' miserable" in the final weeks prior to Malone being dismissed.

Jokić said he found out about the firings "a little bit before everybody," but declined to further elaborate on his talk with Josh Kroenke.
