As the Red Sox welcomed Masataka Yoshida back from the 60-day injured list for his season debut as the designated hitter for Wednesday night’s game against the Rockies, there were immediate questions

Masataka Yoshida wasted little time getting his first hit of the 2025 MLB season. And his first RBI. The Boston Red Sox designated hitter, who was playing in his first game of the year Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies, hit a line-drive single to center field on the third pitch of the at-bat in the bottom of the second inning.

Yoshida will get a chance to show if he can help the Red Sox or some other major league team before the July 31 trade deadline.
