Omaha cut No. 3 LSU's lead in half in the sixth inning but couldn't get closer as the Tigers won Friday night in the opener of their weekend series.

LSU announced ahead of Friday's series opener against Omaha that weather has altered the schedule for the second and third games.

After Mother Nature threw a wrench in LSU's plans, the Tigers were not able to face Nicholls Wednesday night. Instead, they had to wait til Friday for their next game. After a good outing last week, Kade Anderson got the Friday night start again.

Jay Johnson and the LSU Tigers will return to Alex Box Stadium on Friday to begin a three-game series against the Omaha Mavericks. Johnson and Co. enter the series riding a four-game winning streak after sweeping the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons followed by a victory over the Southern Jaguars.
