Facing a tough and physical Detroit defense, second-year Rockets guard Reed Sheppard struggled with both shooting accuracy and turnovers.

Reed Sheppard did it all for the Houston Rockets in their Las Vegas Summer League opener on Friday night. In fact, the second-year guard did essentially everything on the floor more than any other Rockets player. Sheppard led Houston in six major statistical categories in the matchup with the Clippers:

You've got to feel for Reed Sheppard. If a player goes with the third pick in the draft, they're almost guaranteed a starting role. But Sheppard might have been the only loser of the Houston Rockets' surprisingly rapid rise to the heights of the Western Conference.
