Elon Musk has hinted he could steer DOGE to investigate gold reserves at Fort Knox. The suggestion, posted on Twitter/X comes as conspiracy theorists are once again implying the precious metals are not there.

Fourteen states led by New Mexico sued the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, on Thursday challenging the alleged “unlawful delegation of executive power to Elon Musk” they say has unraveled federal agencies and “caused widespread disruption”—as criticism of Elon Musk’s increasingly powerful agency builds.

A pair of lawsuits say that, with all the power he has accumulated, Musk is violating the Constitution's rules about the appointment of federal officers.
