Auburn football hires former Tennessee offensive coordinator
Former Tennessee offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Alex Golesh is assembling his first coaching staff at Auburn. He was introduced as the Tigers' head coach on Dec. 1. Auburn and Golesh announced the hiring of former Tennessee offensive coordinator Larry Scott on Tuesday. He will serve as the Tigers’ tight ends coach.
What to know: Porter is an experienced running backs coach who will now start a second stint at Auburn. He was on Gus Malzahn’s staff from 2017-2020, where he coached tight ends and halfbacks and was the program’s recruiting coordinator.
The move was first reported by national outlets and confirmed by multiple sources, signaling the end of Scott's tenure at Howard University and a return to a role where he has previously thrived. Scott is expected to work under Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze, rounding out the Tigers' offensive staff ahead of the upcoming season.

On Sunday, city officials issued a Level 3 "Go Now" evacuation notice for residents and businesses across multiple neighborhoods as severe and rapidly worsening flooding spreads through the community.
