A man who injured a flight attendant while trying to open the door of a plane on a flight from Milwaukee to Dallas earlier this month has been charged.

American Airlines Group Inc. is pulling the plug on one of its newest international routes at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

An unruly passenger accused of trying to force open a plane door and injuring an attendant mid-flight last week – prompting fellow passengers to duct-tape him – has been charged in federal court, a federal prosecutor’s office said.

Witnesses heard the man tell a flight attendant that he was "captain of this flight" and needed to "get off the plane," a complaint says.
